This year I teamed up with Wossman’s Homecoming Court to host a general assembly to promote #MoreThanPrettyCampaign. We collaborated to increase student awareness regarding the need for minority women in STEM, government, and corporate leadership. The overall goal was to inspire females to engage in STEM classes and leadership opportunities which put them on the track toward success. It was great to see young women engaged in the conversation and interested in how they could make a difference.
I believe in the importance of sharing transparent stories which motivate and inspire underrepresented women to stay the course in spite of. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with Wossman to shift the perspective on female leadership and create mentorship gateways for students. This is the start of an excellent Homecoming tradition that will have a positive impact on young ladies in the Monroe community.
Here’s the news clip about the collaboration aired by KNOE.
